Become a vocational nurse
Institute of Technology gives you the skills you need to launch your real career in the medical field as a vocational nurse. Our program provides the knowledge and training you need to be successful as an entry-level VN/PN in most health care settings. Following completion of our program, you can be qualified to take your state NCLEX-PN licensure exam.

Through our core courses, you will gain a solid foundation in English, mathematics, and biology. Additionally, you will learn how to care for patients in a laboratory setting. Plus, our hands-on training lets you experience the actual demands of the career before graduation, giving you confidence and a greater understanding of how to perform your job in the real world.
What to expect after our nursing program
As a licensed vocational nurse, your duties can entail:
- Providing basic nursing care
- Assessing patients and providing health-related patient instruction
- Performing medical treatments as prescribed
- Administering prescribed medications
- Monitoring patient health in long-term care and acute care settings
