As an accountant, you can be responsible for a wide range of accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting duties for your clients. Accountants work for corporations, large and small businesses, the government, nonprofit organizations, or for individuals as a public accountant.
If you want to become an accountant, you should have an aptitude for mathematics and be able to understand, compare, and analyze facts and figures quickly. You should possess strong communication and writing skills to work closely with clients. To become an accountant, you will also want to be familiar with basic accounting and computer software programs.
